John Kalapo was born in 1983 in Bamako, Mali. He enrolled in 2010 at the Training Center in Photography (CFP) of Bamako. John has carried out photo reporting trips of NGOs such as: Swiss-contact, One Word, Spana UK, and Water-Aid, as well as for societies such as: Safran-France, Jumbo-Mali company, Sama Transport Mali / Ivory Coast, Eagle EYE.
He has also participated in photo workshops and group exhibitions in Mali, wider Africa, and France. John is working on the Malian photography archives project for conservation, digitization and archiving of the legacy of famous African photographers such as: Malick Sidibe, Abderrahmane Sakaly, Tijane Sitou, Adama Kouyate, Mamadou Cisse and Felix Diallo.
